Universal Movement is the flagship and primary martial art program at Riverview. A non-competitive art, Universal Movement is an eclectic ancient fighting and healing art emphasizing both hard and soft movement. Training is both indoors and outdoors year-round, with a blend of technical martial skills, meditation, connection with nature's energies and beauty, and Chi Gung (cultivation of one's internal energy -"Chi")

Riverview's non-competitive training philosophy is inspiring, realistic, thorough, and enjoyable. Training encompasses very effective self-defense, strong cultivation of character, and the education of mind, body and spirit from martial artists whose lifestyle and approach to teaching is centered around compassionately educating individuals about this profound and serious, yet fun and uplifting subject matter.

As an ancient martial art with a very broad curriculum of both soft and hard, internal and external martial art movement, Universal Movement teaches motivated individuals/groups how to grow uniquely and creatively, and gives each student the skills to maintain their dignity and composure as they journey through their daily lives.
